Borders Chamber Orchestra is a not for profit organisation run by a committee of volunteers. Our orchestral musicians donate their time and skills for free, receiving no expenses. Once we have covered our necessary expenses, which include the hire of Melrose Parish Church, insurance, printing costs and conductor and professional soloist fees, we donate our remaining ticket income to our chosen charity for each concert.
We are delighted to let you know that the orchestra has been able to make the following donations from our ticket income for our Autumn Concert 2025 and Winter Concert 2026 to our chosen charities

Lymphoma Action
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer in the UK and Lymphoma Action UK make it their mission to support both those affected by Lymphoma themselves, along with their families and loved ones. It is the aim of the staff and volunteers of the charity to ensure those affected have the best possible information, support and treatment, alongside supporting doctors and nurses treating patients to enable them to provide the best possible care.
We have donated £400 from the proceeds of our concert in November 2025
PATCH
Patch is the first charity specifically to support 24/7 specialist palliative care for patients in Scottish hospitals. We have donated £400 from the proceeds of our concert in February 2026
